Dr. Libby is a clinical psychologist who primarily uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Libby works with clients of all ages using evidence-based psychotherapies. Dr. Libby received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and then completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University. Dr. Libby's doctoral training included a specialty focus in working with children and families. In addition to private practice, Dr. Libby is a supervisor, Assistant Clinic Director, and Coordinator of the DBT Program at Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS). There he has been involved in training doctoral students in clinical psychology for the last 15 years.
Dr. Libby was intensively trained in DBT by Behavioral Tech and has attended a number of other DBT trainings. Other areas of expertise are CBT for anxiety disorders and health psychology (e.g., coping with medical conditions such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, IBS). Dr. Libby values his clients. He will draw upon evidence-based practices (based on therapy research) to individualize the right approach for you.
